i2iOptique is the pure definition of customer satisfaction. I walked into this place first time as I was trying to get a new prescription to my Theo glasses, and Sabena the business owner ended up gaining my trust and all future business. She advised my into the purchase an other pair of Theo.be masterpieces, and went above and beyond to repair my Chrome Hearts sunglasses after someone stepped on them.

I appreciate this place for her responsiveness, variety and offerings, but most of all customer service that is hard to find.

Sabina has an incredible selection of frames but more important, she has an excellent eye for what works/what doesn’t work for your particular face. She will suggest things you thought you’d never even try-on. There are many optical shops that are part of a large conglomerate. This is the opposite. A woman-owned local boutique business where service is everything and style is unmatched.

This review will be a little contrarian (and long), however I'll share my experience, as I wish that I had the benefit of such before I went.

TLDR: Based upon the experience that I had, I'm surprised that this shop is still in business, much less all the positive reviews.

The shop does have a fairly broad selection of higher end frames. It's also a small little space, so be prepared for that.

That said, it was an odd and fairly unprofessional experience from start to finish. It wasn't clear to me until a few minutes in who exactly was the appropriate point of contact.....there was a gentleman (turned out, a vendor) behind a mobile display of frames doing a "trunk show" and then another gentleman wearing a dirty unkempt shirt who, it turns out, didn't work there (however was speaking to me about lenses). I literally had to ask each person who they were and if they worked there. One of the people was "Sabina"....and she didn't identify herself as the owner until after I asked. And frankly, her demeanor was brusque and impolite throughout (and I'm a fellow New Yorker, so a NY attitude doesn't bother me at all....this was just different).

Firstly, I had found her shop via my Davis Vision eye plan. She immediately began making disparaging remarks about them, about my glasses that I currently had, and remarked that I was only the second person in 5 years referred from Davis Vision that she had helped. She also absolutely misquoted the benefits of my plan. She stated that Davis Vision was *only* a lab. Either I could get their lenses (which, she was very adamant that they were the lowest of the low) or I could buy her lab's lenses (around $550). I asked, "so this is binary? I either get the Davis Vision lenses, which are of low quality......or I get lenses through your lab and that's completely out of pocket, is that correct?" She stated, "yeah, that's right". She was absolutely incorrect.

What's interesting is that I'm a professional pilot and a former successful financial money manager and I'm able to afford good glasses as well as understand complex concepts. Firstly, in so many words, she made comments to suggest that my glasses were the lowest of the low (they're not), that my plan was basically worthless (it's not....my current glasses were around $1,200 retail and my out of pocket was $427) and continually bombarded me with extraneous information at a very rapid pace. Almost as if she were trying to demonstrate what an expert she was. The problem is, I didn't need that much information....I needed her to *LISTEN* to what I was looking for, then make some recommendations. It's like someone asking me an aviation question and then I start to bombard them with the Ideal Gas Law and Bernoulli's Principle at a machine-gun speed.

As well, with both Sabina and the other gentleman, I had to repeat and clarify myself several times items that had already been discussed......it was if neither she nor he were *listening*.

Frankly, it was unproductive and exhausting to spend the 20 minutes in there.

As a contrast......I went to a different shop the following day and that was a fantastic experience. Like night vs day. The optician there listened, made some great recommendations (some options that I hadn't been aware of or had considered before) and had a print out of my benefits via Davis Vision to go over what was covered, what my co-pays were, and which options were out of pocket. Seamless.

As a final counter-point....Sabina bragged that she handled "many pilots".....yet never made the recommendation that I get a gradient tint. I had *specifically* stated to Sabina that I had a challenge reading all the data on my glass flight display with properly tinted sunglasses....in other words, if the lens is dark enough to attenuate an appropriate amount of sunlight, then I can't read my display. She never even mentioned a gradient. Which the optician at the other shop *did* and I'll be getting.

I’ve been coming to Sabina for years and not because my glasses are old or worn down, but because she always has fly, trendy items with exceptional quality and a fair price point. Not to mention- it’s always a good time catching up. She makes you feel like family. Love her eye glass shop ❤️ I would highly recommend.

I have been extremely happy with the glasses that I purchased. Sabina is the most knowledgeable and honest optician I have met. She knows her business well. Had a factory defect and she covered it quickly and with no hassle. Frames are fun and very high quality, at a fair price.

Sabina is amazing! I came in from out of town for a few days on business, and just happened to pop in on accident, after grabbing breakfast nearby, and man am I glad I did! Sabina was very attentive, and a great listener. I really appreciate the fact that she's an educator at heart, and taught me several things that I just never learned. It's hard to find a great place you can trust, so you better believe when I'm ready for a few more pairs, I'm definitely flying in again. This is probably the 2nd review I've ever written on google, as I very rarely write these, but this time I couldn't resist. Thanks a ton Sabina!!

I recently purchased a pair of eyeglasses, as well as prescription sunglasses, from Sabina at i2i Optique. She was wonderful to work with and comes across with a high level of knowledge and professionalism. The level of customer service she provides her customers is outstanding. I highly recommend this business!
